Project History
Ultimate Online Checkers is my first successful commercial game. It has placed in a Flash game competition and has grossed over $4,000 from prize winnings, ads, and license deals (Not to mention a nifty iPod Nano).

Game Description
Take the classic game of checkers and add power-ups to it and BOOM! You get Ultimate Online Checkers! Not only does Ultimate Online Checkers take checkers to a whole new level, but now you can battle over the net against your friends! The game contains online multiplayer and an assortment of different themes and checker pieces so you never have to stare at a plain board again!

Project History
Grid[z] is my first publish Facebook game, development for the game started spontaneously while idling in a club room at my university (http://www.sjsu.edu/) and having nothing much else to do. I worked in conjunction with fellow classmate Parris Khachi (http://www.parrisstudios.com/).

Game Description
The main goal of Grid[z] is to cover up as many squares as possible on the 14×14 square grid, while trying to limit the number of squares your opponent covers up. It is tightly integrated into the Facebook platform which has allowed easy integration of friend leader boards and a lobby system that allows you to play with any Grid[z] player in the world (coming soon)!

My Role
I lead the overallĀ  project through it’s initial development and it’s current development. I developed all the Flash front end gameplay mechanics and worked with Parris Khachi, who developed the backend, in order to integrate the game into the Facebook platform. I also saught out and acquired an artist to do all the graphics for the game.

Tools Used
Flash CS3 Professional with Actionscript 3.0 & Flash Develop. Backend was developed in PHP/MySQL.

Game Specs

  • Built on the Facebook platofrm
  • Rankings and leaderboards
  • Lobby System (coming soon)
